Drawing of the Week (Now I've Seen Everything)
Old drawing, but I stumbled across this today and I need a test case to see if the new google blogger beta is working with flickr.

Drawing of the Week (Dangling Mouse)
No, I have no idea why I drew this. There isn't any secret meaning. Basically I wanted to get away from drawing people and drawing a mouse in peril is a very cartoony thing to do.

The Secret Life of Doc Aquatic
Here's something you get when you live in a loose copyright world. New stuff out of old stuff. Halcyonsnow a frequent contributor of the 700 hoboes project used one of my hoboes in a comic. The other hobo he's referring to in the barrel is Beef Grease Porter Dripchin. Great stuff.

Drawing of the week (#452: Bo 'Bo)
Another hobo for the 700 Hoboes Project. Bo 'Bo can remember a time when a velvet portrait of a clown hobo on your bathroom wall was the mark of good taste. He laments the passing of those days and harkens back to a time when seltzer bottles sprayed from every boxcar.

Drawing of the Week (Random Doodles)
This week, a three for one drawing of the week. I was just randomly doodling and deleted all the crap. There is no story here but you can make one up if you want. Maybe the demon is advising the guy on his date. Or showing him what he'll more likely be doing tonight when he gets home.

Drawing of the Week (Oh, Tough Guy ... Eh?)
Quick drawing of the week. I've been accumulating a glut of quick ones I haven't posted yet to ride through the weeks when I don't do anything at all.

Drawing of the Week (Green Cyclops)
Been lazy this week so this is one from last week. I still need to work on bodies rather than just portraits but I haven't had the drive to practice. This one was quick and dirty.

Drawing of the week (Close Profile)
I haven't posted anything for a while. Here's one I did last week. What I really need to do is work on drawing full bodies but I'm to lazy to do that right now. I have to read some more about proportions.

Drawing of the Week (#65: Ghostly Nose Silvie)
The second of a two-for-one post of weekly drawings. This is another hobo for the 700 hoboes project. This one #65 Ghostly Nose Silvie. Acually in my interpretation it should be, Ghostly nose, beard and moustache Sylvie. This is the 4th hobo that I've posted. It's a good thing that they don't grade on quality because I'm obviously a rank amatuer compared to a couple of the regular posters. They must be professional artists. This is only a hobby for me. Anyway, you can see the other hobo pictures of mine at E-Hobo.com. It looks much more impressive when you see them in the context of a real web site, but don't be fooled. The photos go up there automatically, no one approves them, so any crap gets up there. If you want to go to my hoboes directly, you can use the following links.
#65: Ghostly Nose Silvie
#144: Robert Eats-for-free
#118: Doc Aquatic
#175: Commodore 64

Drawing of the Week (#144: Robert Eats-for-free)
I haven't posted a drawing of the week for a while, but I have created two other hoboes for the 700 hobes project since the last drawing of the week. I'll post both of them now. This is #144 "Robert Eats For Free".

Drawing of the week. (Linda, who doesn't actually exist)
Another practice of drawing women's faces. This isn't based on anyone or any photograph it's just a drawing from nothing. I'm not that great at women's faces, and most of them end up looking effeminate men, so I'm practicing. The holy grail of drawing a woman's face is to draw one that is totally bald. The hair is to much of a visual cue and distracts from real female facial features. This one looked pretty good bald so I added hair. I also got sick of naming files like practice_female_portrait_2, so I named this one Linda. The first name that popped into my head.

Drawing of the week (#118 Doc Aquatic).
Another drawing I did for the 700 Hoboes project. Doc Aquatic is one of the cleanest hoboes you'll ever meet. Though that's not saying much.
Update: Found some pictures of real hoboes for reference.

Drawing of the week (knife and butter)
knife_and_butter_small
I really don't understand how people get to my flickr photos. Some photos that I haven't posted anywhere get a few new hits a day where others that I have posted all over the place get hardly a notice. I also really don't understand the "most interesting" list they generate. I have absolutely no idea how one photo is determined to be more interesting than another. I thought it had to do with views, comments and who marked it as a favorite but the ranking doesn't really seem to conform to that logic. Here's a drawing that I posted to flickr a long time ago that I think is good and yet it doesn't rate very high on the interesting scale and it's only been viewed 9 times. This one needs more promotion.

Drawing for the 700 Hoboes Project
So if you haven't heard of the 700 Hoboes Project, here's the skinny. Basically some humorous guy named John Hodgman wrote a book called The Areas of My Expertise. Part of this book involves a list of 700 hobo names. I first heard about it through the audio version of the list which also featured my new favorite song writer Jonathan Coulton. Some time ago it was suggested that various artists should go through and put a face to the hobo names. Here is my entry for number 175 "Commodore Sixty-Four". To bad that someone just beat me by posting their own Commodore Sixty-Four a few days earlier but then again they don't frown on duplicate entries. Not my best work but it's pretty good. I'll probably add some more hoboes to the project in the future.

Drawing of the Week (Behind every videogame, there is a kernel of truth.)
This started as a hand drawing study that eventually got "out of hand" (yuk yuk ugh). It begs the question.... What does the government really know about Pac Man?

Drawing of the Week (Ugly Mug)
Still nothing "post worthy" yet, so here's another old drawing. I think this guy is English and he just came out of a pub after a few pints. Looks to me like Elephant and Castle lost the rugby match against Cockfosters 10 to naught.

Drawing of the Week (The Last Pawn Standing)
OK, so I drew this a couple of weeks ago, but the stuff I have done since hasn't been "post worthy" so this is it for now.
