Hydrogen: Free Advanced Drum Machine for Linux

Hydrogen
is an advanced drum machine for GNU/Linux. It's main goal is to bring professional yet simple and intuitive pattern-based drum programming.

People will try to make money on anything.

Here's something that you can do yourself in about 10 min with photoshop or the free version The Gimp.
They take a picture of your and make it look like an ipod advertisement for $20. Who the hell would want that anyway?

OK, another drum machine but this time for Excel.

DrumPad.xls (alpha version) is apparently a drum machine written in visual basic and can run in Excel. It's basically an Excel spreadsheet that turns your keyboard into a drum machine. Who said that the office computer isn't any fun? I haven't tried it but I probably will.

Elana on the AP News Wire

This is actually from March 2005, but since she was also the Time Magazine, "Person of the Year", I thought I'd add this here too.
The AP reporter got the story all wrong. Elana is in the background with Suzi and Isabella is in the front. Such is the state of journalism. This may have run in newspapers across the country but I don't know which picked it up. It did run on Yahoo News online.

Finish this Article Later

Is David Hockney Full of Crap?

Yet another free lypsynching program.

Papagayo is open sourced Python and free, but meant to be used with Moho a $99 animation program. Looks a little better than Magpie and the Java version. Hopefully it has text export of the data so it can be used standalone.

Free Version of Magpie?

Magpie is great but the basic version doesn't seem worth $60. JLipSync looks like a free Java version of the same thing.

Find more music the way you like it.

Pandora takes and artist name and creates a "radio station" of similar artists so you can find other music that you like. Trying this out.

Holy Crap! I've been looking for something like this.

Magpie A tool that you can use to analyze speech and show you how cartoon character mouths should be drawn. Woo Hoo! This can be used with Blender through a Python script called Lipsync.

More Stuff I'll Never Use

Open Source Free 3D Animation. Blender

Filezilla free FTP Client.

Forget about WSFTP Pro and get the free Filezilla

Free HTML Editor and Web Authoring System

Apparently NVU rivals Dreamweaver and Frontpage and it's free.

Tabit Music Sequencer

Tabit
A fairly good music sequencer if you know how to play guitar. Would be better if it allowed you to record things in real time. I'm not sure you can but I haven't really played with it to much.

They never touched this stuff in high school. http://bethe.cornell.edu/

My new favorite recording artist. Jonathan Coulton

"Shop Vac" is my current favorite song probably followed by "Skull Crusher Mountain", "Ikea" and "First of May". I dream about being this clever. www.jonathancoulton.com

Yet another thing that I don't have time for.

Free Linux multi track recording program. Looks great. If I made the time, I'd probably have alot of fun with this. http://ardour.org/
