Our Hero Does it Again!

Remember that baby that became America's greatest hero by falling down a well? Her heroism knows no bounds as she (reportedly) gets married. CNN is still checking their sources to confirm that she actually did get married. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the news! Maybe some day she will, dare I say it, have children. The epic saga continues. I hope Paramount can secure the movie rights to this gripping tale as they cast Tom Hanks as the rescue worker down on his luck and jaded by age, who gains new hope for life at the sight of our little trooper.

Also watch for her upcoming album "All's Well That Ends Well", her season on "The Surreal Life", and the E-bay auction for a section of the pipe in which she was stuck. Don't bother bidding on it, Golden Palace will just outbid you.

Drawing of the Week

OK, so I didn't draw this one this week. This is from a set of comic cells for a comic that I will probably never finish. The secret agent goes to the bar to find his signature drink.

I Wanna Rock and Roll All Night ....

OK Elana.
We can play Kiss Army and you can be Gene Simmons but you can't wear the makeup.

Mmmm.... Must.

Mmmmm .... Must. I need to try their other flavor ..... Mildew. (Found at Barzini's on Broadway.)

From the Bureau of Duh

CNN has breaking news about the housing bubble!

"Half of the homes sold for more than the median, the rest for less."

Um ... Yeah. I could have told you that. This by the way, is a top story.

Sounds like Teen Spirit

Here's a great cover
of Smells Like Teen Spirit. The cover is by Ragnar Bjarnason? I'm not sure. I found it on April Winchell. It's probably already made the rounds but it's the first I heard of it.

And if you've haven't had enough yet.

More free vector drawing software. Inkscape looks like it's pretty good. I can't vouch for it, again I have never used it. This is an open source project so it's written by hobyists. Make of that what you will. Still looks interesting though but I already have a copy of Illustrator so no point here.

Even More Free Drawing Software

Free Serif Software makes old versions of their photo editing, vector drawing and html editing software available. You can download it and it's "free for life" but you have to sign up for their newsletter. Presumably the newsletter tells you that you can upgrade to the latest version of their software for $60. They also say that you can unsubscribe to the newsletter so you don't have to worry about spam for life as well. For example you can download and use "Draw Plus 4" all you want but it you want to upgrade to "Draw Plus 7" you have to pay their current sale price of $60 (normally $80). I've never used it and I can't vouch for it but it's out there.

Drawing of the Week

I'm still having problems drawing women's faces. Here's the best attempt that I've done so far. This was done 2 days ago at about 2am.

Sugar Free Mental

Some people say these taste really great but I think it's all in their minds.

And a case of these would be called ...

By the way it's sort of like a fruit flavored tic tac.

Lessons in ruining your guitar.

Lesson #1, do what this guy did. In the e-bay auction for this guitar he also writes "CONTACT ME AND I WILL GIVE YOU AN ESTIMATE ON YOUR VERY OWN CUSTOM GUITAR. THE PRICES WILL PROBABLY SURPRIZE YOU.". Oh, I doubt his low prices will "surprize" me. His confidence however, is surprising. By the way it's supposed to say "Psalm 150" whatever that is. Maybe it's "thou shalt spread your garbage across the land".

Busted!

So I was looking at guitars on e-bay and stumbled across this guitar auction. Looks like the guy is selling the guitar for about $8. But wait, check the shipping charges. They come out to around $300. They really should be about $100, even from China. Obviously this is the scam right? Looking a little further I found another auction for this other guitar. Notice the item pictures? Same pictures. So the scammer is using the picture of a $15,000 guitar in his bogus auction. OK, so what's the scammer's ebay rating? Actually he has hundreds of supposedly positive responses. Well, the responses aren't really that positive but positive nontheless. So what's the deal? He's just scamming this one time? A friend reported this to ebay security for me. We'll see if this gets delisted. More details later.

Update:
So for some unknown reason the scammer's e-bay auction changed mysteriously to one for a Chinese propaganda poster from one the was clearly a guitar auction. The text and the picture were for a guitar. I don't know know what magic he used to change the auction like that. Probably the same magic that he uses to keep his feedback so clean. Never heard anything back from Ebay security.

Mr. Dibby

Why the name Mr Dibby? I have no idea. I don't know anyone by that name. It just seemed right. Actually he looks alot like my 6th grade teacher.

Everyone's a comedian.

She's here all week folks.

Second Drawing of the Week.

OK, so I'm posting a second drawing of the week this week. Right now I'm testing an easy way to blog something from flickr.

Drawing of the Week

OK so this week's drawing is incomplete, but I think I like it that way.

Also if you're interested, this picture was drawn with a free program you can download called Art Rage. Stupid name, nice program.

Sit up comedy.

OK, so these diapers. I mean what's the deal? ...

These are the people who live here.

Overheard in NY None of these quotes really surprise me, but they are still funny.
